Party Shoes That Will Keep You Dancing All Weekend

By Cleverbuttons @cleverbuttons

Hi All,

I have become shoe obsessed of late, it is definitely something that I have always had but that seems to grow at this time of year. From comfy, warm boots through to glittery heels; I literally cannot get enough to wear. As I have a number of previous posts that look at my love of winter boots, I have decided to dedicate this post to the highest of the high heels – the ones that you don’t mind if you can’t quite walk in as they are just so beautiful.

As it is the season when we all need to sparkle, feel glamorous and have many different parties to go to, there is never a better time than now to go shoe shopping. Let’s face it; you don’t have to break the budget in the process.

Sparkle on the dance floor.

So for a Christmas treat I wanted to spend a minute discussing my fascination with glitter of every colour! My go to for this season are probably the same as everyone’s – silver, gold and red – although for shoes I tend to avoid the red ones as they remind me too much of Dorothy. So I have chosen to keep it simple for this first pair and opt for silver. Now many of you may have thought gold would be easier to accessories to, but I don’t wear an awful lot of gold jewelry and as my dresses tend to be bright and bold, I find silver is more complimentary. Remember though that there are no set rules when it comes to fashion.

This pair have the perfect heel height to elongate me and offer that jaw drop “How does she walk in those”. The glitter is enough for me to wear a plainer dress so that the shoes do the talking and the price point is perfect for this Christmas – £30 and I can have them delivered to my door = perfect! Grab this pair from available Brantano and I don’t think they will be in stock for long – I may have to get two pairs to cover me.

Sometimes we need flat party shoes.

I know I am a fan of the humble heel, but there are times when I want comfort as well as fun so I turn to the ballet flat. There are so many around at the moment that you could give them a post all of their own; everything has been covered from velvet slippers through to black biker flats. For this post I have decided to narrow it down to the velvet shoe as they are so versatile, but seriously you should all have a look at the punk inspired trend!

There is something that reminds me of childhood when I think of velvet Mary Jane’s or ballet flats, so I am covering them as a whole here – trust me you will be able to find the right pair for you. For party flats, I look for luxurious colours rather than plain black or navy, which lend themselves to velvet most of the time. I currently have a slight obsession with burgundy and royal blue velvet, so I am heading for these shades this winter. I would also look for simple embellishments, such as gold stitching just to highlight the design of the shoe and set off your outfit as a whole. This pair by Miu Miu are my ultimate pair – but I will have to save up for a long time for these beauties!
