Minister Mahinda Amaraweera says that MP Dayasiri Jayasekara was appointed as the General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) when there were many other seniors who never left the party and if necessary, more facts can be disclosed in this regard.
He also said that when Duminda Dissanayake was working as General Secretary, he was removed and Dayasiri Jayasekara was appointed to that position, but after losing his position, unlike Jayasekera, Dissanayake did not go before the law and started criticizing the party and the party leadership.
Amaraweera stated this while speaking at a meeting of SLFP representatives held on Saturday (28) at the Hotel Kandyan Arts Residency in Kandy. He said that the Presidential Election could be held around October 2024 and party organization activities have been started targeting all the elections including that.
