Party Pretty In Indianwear

By Lookingoodfeelingfab @lookingoodfeel
Its starting to become clear to me that my fashion personality is essentially Indian. Does this mean I am in a sari or salwaar kameez all day every day? No - far from it. But irrespective of what I decide to put on, I have an undeniable urge to add some Indian elements - a gajra with a pant suit, A mangtikka with a skirt or glass bangles with a dress.
Just one Indian element is all I need to feel at ease with my look. I think Indian fashion is way ahead of any other, it is classic and versatile like no other.
Take the crop top trend, haven't we been rocking its Indian counterpart aka the sari blouse for forever. The midriff baring piece of fashion has been adding oomph to our traditional attires for ages.
The kediyum which Gujarati men have been dancing and twirling in for centuries has now become the fancy of Fashion labels of the west like Jean Paul Gaultier. The examples are endless.
So while I see the west embracing our culture and our fashion I often meet young girls who think it "uncool" to be seen in Indian wear.
Is Indian wear boring? Can Indian wear never be party wear?
Indianwear and boring are poles apart - with so much tradition and culture weaved into every thread it can never be boring.
Can you party in it? YES YES YES - this season try hitting the parties in Indian fusion wear and you are sure to make heads turn and make a statement.

I am wearing a kurta as a dress and to take the volume and give me some shape I have belted it at the waist.

Some more fusion HERE, HERE and HEREThink you will party in a kurta this season? Tell me tell me :)
