Verdict on Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin

Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin is the latest addition to the Paranormal Activity franchise. This takes things in a different direction as a group of friends find themselves investigating one’s birthplace. However, what they find is a lot more terrifying than they could imagine.

This is a movie that looks to go in a different direction, moving away from the original family. While that is good, it is still filled with the same naïve horror mistakes, including investigating in the dark, but not the daytime. Where this one stands out is with the revelation in the final act, taking everything in a much crazier direction, unlike anything we have seen before. Despite taking things in a fresh direction, it doesn’t feel as natural in the found footage concept it wants to create.

Final ThoughtsParanormal Activity: Next of Kin is another watchable addition to the franchise.
