Try out this versatile paneer cutlet recipe that is suitable even for babies! Works well on it’s own, as a side dish or even as a vegetarian burger patty.
Cutlet or tikki is one of the most popular snacks for all ages. The best part is that you can make tikkis out of pretty much anything you have in your home! Today, we’ve gone ahead and picked out some paneer, carrots and potatoes to make a delicious paneer tikki.
Along with protein and calcium rich paneer, this recipe also has vitamin A and anti-oxidant rich carrots along with vitamin C and potassium rich “potatoes” in it. You can modify this recipe to add any vegetable of your choice, like beans, beetroots or sweet potatoes. Let’s see how this comes together!
Paneer Cutlet/Tikki Recipe
Ingredients:
- Carrot – Half,
- Potatoes – 2 (small),
- Corn Flour – 2 tbsp.,
- Ghee/Butter – 2 tsp,
- Cumin Powder – A Pinch,
- Paneer – 50 grams.
- Water – As required.
Method:
1. Boil or pressure cook the potatoes till it is soft cooked and remove the skin.
2. In a bowl, mash the peeled potatoes well by using a masher or a fork.
3. Mash till it gets completely mashed without any lumps.
4. Grate the carrot and cubed paneer well with the help of a grater.
5. Add cumin/jeera powder for seasoning.
6. Mix well to form a dough.
7. Now take a small portion of dough, press it using your palm and make patties, repeat the same with the entire dough.
8. In a small bowl take 2 tbsp. of corn flour, add water and mix well.
9. Heat a pan and add some butter or ghee.
10. Now, dip each patties in the corn flour mixture and place it in the pan.
11. On medium heat, pan fry the patties till it attains golden brown color by flipping occasionally.
12. The paneer cutlet/tikki is now ready to serve.
This recipe is perfect for babies over 10 months. Just take care to skip the salt for babies under one. This recipe is quite versatile. You can serve it simply as a snack, or as a side dish with pulaos and rotis, or as a patty in homemade burgers. So how are you going to make your tikkis today?
