paneer biryani
one post rice meal made with Indian cottage cheese and spices
Ingredients
- Paneer - 200 gm,cubed
- basmati rice - 2 cups,rinsed and soaked for 30 minutes
- onion - 3 thinly sliced
- ginger garlic paste - 2 teaspoons
- Green paste - 2 to 3 teaspoons(corinader elaves,mint leaves,green chilli paste)
- red chilli powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- garam masala - 1/4 teaspoon
- coriander powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- bay leaf,cloves,star anise,cinnamon,black cardamom,green cardamom - for tempering
- ghee/oil - as needed
- coriander leaves,mint leaves - as needed
- salt - to taste
- Heat pressure pan and add enough oil or ghee in it.Once it get hot,add all the spices for tempering.
- Once it saute well,add thinly sliced onions and saute it till it golden brown.Then add ginger garlic paste and the green paste made from coriander leaves,mint leaves and green chilli to it and saute it well.
- Now add finely chopped tomatoes and cook till it mushy.Add all the spice powders and add little water to it.Boil it well till oil separates and then add frozen paneer
- Add the soaked rice and add enough water for the recipe.Mix it well without breaking the rice.
- Add enough salt to the recipe.Once it came to boil add coriander leaves and mint leaves to it and close the lid.
- Pressure cook for two whistles in medium flame and one whistle in low flame.Switch off the flame once it get done.
- Once pressure releases,open the lid and fluff up the rice.
