How To Make Spicy Turnips

You gotta try these simple to make spicy turnips which will soon be your favorite accompaniment to all your meat dishes or great to enjoy on its own. I love the way the yoghurt sauce blends with the turnips.

Ingredients


  • 3 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 kg turnips (quartered)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 green chillies
  • Small piece of ginger
  • 2 x 3 finger pinches cumin powder
  • 4 x 3 finger pinches coriander powder
  • 2 tbsp coconut yoghurt
  • Salt
  • 150 ml water
  • 2 x 3 finger pinches garam masala

Method


  1. Fry turnips lightly in oil and set aside
  2. Blend garlic, ginger, chillies, cumin, coriander and yoghurt and work into a paste.
  3. Fry this paste in the pan for around 2 minutes and return the turnips and add salt and stir well.
  4. Add water and simmer covered for 10 minutes.
  5. Take lid off, add garam masala stir and cook uncovered till almost all liquid has been evaporated.
