Pak Pong Ju Visits Mines and Electric Complex

DPRK state media reported on November 29 (Tuesday) that State Affairs Commission Vice Chairman and Premier Pak Pong Ju [Pak Pong-chu] visited mines in and around South Hamgyo’ng Province.  Pak also visited the Sangnong Mine, the DPRK’s largest gold mine, and the Pyongyang Thermal Power Complex.

Pak toured the Taehu’ng Youth Hero Mine, the Ryongyang Mine and the Komdok Mining Industry Complex and was briefed about their production. Whilst touring the mine and the area of Komdok “associated with the feats of President Kim Il Sung (Kim Il-so’ng) and leader Kim Jong Il (Kim Cho’ng-il), the DPRK Premier “encouraged their officials and workers in the efforts for productive success.”  Pak Pong Ju stressed “the need for those mines and enterprise to keep their facilities in full-capacity operation and put them on a modern basis in order to produce more minerals and thus become honorable victors in the 200-day campaign of loyalty to make a breakthrough in carrying out the five-year strategy for national economic development.”
