First things first - taking a hold bag on a flight is now expensive, so we only take one hold bag as we are pretty cheap! Along with that we take our hand luggage case and Izzy's change bag.
Little suitcase: this is our hand luggage case. I've packed it so our wedding clothes are on one side for easy access on Saturday morning, and Simon's clothes are on the other side. The reason for that? It keeps him out of the big suitcase, and stops him messing up my systems!
The big suitcase: this is mostly dedicated to Isabelle's things! The bottom right hand side is all her clothes. The weather at the minute is causing me a headache at home, let alone going away - two days ago I had Isabelle in a summer outfit, yesterday was so cold I had to get her back into long sleeves, and today she's back in a vest and sleepsuit! So, to combat this issue while we are away I have done the only sensible thing and packed pretty much her entire 3-6month wardrobe! Luckily, her clothes are teeny so I can fit lots in to a small space.
Then there is the issue of her nappies. I wash them everyday at Simon's parents', but we are away two nights before that so need to have plenty to last us. You can see they are taking up around half the suitcase - but at least they are light so won't put us over our weight allowance.
That little pile on the bottom left? Yeah, that's my stuff. I've only packed one pair of jeans, a maxi skirt and a few tops. Packing with Isabelle in mind means I now pack very lightly for myself! I also have trainers and a coat at Simon's parents' house so I don't need to worry about packing too much when we go there.
The top left is our toiletries bag, and underneath it are "miscellaneous" items like our swimming stuff, a cot sheet for the hotel and a wet bag.
The top layer of any suitcase I pack is always things we will need on arrival at our destination, so this suitcase will have Isabelle's jammies, her night nappy, Grobag and my jammies on top. As with all packing, there are a few last minute bits I need to stick in tomorrow morning, notably Izzy's movement monitor, which gets wrapped in clothes to keep it nice and safe.
So there we have it. Packing lightly is harder with Isabelle, especially because of her nappies, but I'm proud to say that when the big suitcase is shut, we will still have some room, and some kilos, to spare!
No doubt I'll have forgotten something...but I've heard they have shops now in England, so I won't worry too much! (As long as it's not Isabelle we forget!)
