Owensboro, Kentucky Welcomes The World Championships of Cornhole

By Melody Schubert @USATM

American Cornhole Organization is excited to bring the best players from across the country to Owensboro, KY, back to the place of last year’s World Championships of Cornhole, for the 9th major of ACO Season 13 January 19th-20th. The Major will be played at the Owensboro Convention Center.
ACO Majors are the focal point of the Season, where top players and social players alike compete to earn points toward their season rankings. Majors aren’t only for the top players though, as many competitors from all different skill levels come and compete, and loyal fans cheer on their favorites. The good news for fans – all ACO events are free to spectators!
Registration for events ends Wednesday, January 17th. Costs of entry varies based on the event. Each event comes with certain spoils, and cash purses and ACO custom jerseys can be won in the ACO Indianapolis Major. Players do not have to be ACO members to participate in any events, or to claim prizes from winning events. Frank Geers, President & CEO of American Cornhole says “Owensboro is a hot bed of great cornhole action, and has quickly developed a rich crop of players that call Owensboro their competing grounds. We love to be in that town with the great restaurants and hang outs, and most importantly a great cornhole atmosphere in the Convention Center!”
