Overhaul Your Home: The Rooms To Focus On

By Lamamma @LAmamma1

When it comes to your home we can all have different priorities when it comes to decorating and making a statement. Your home, after all, is your chance to add your personality and own stamp on the place. However, overhaling your whole home can become an overwhelming task to take on. So I wanted to highlight some of the rooms and areas you could focus on that could make a big difference.

Minimising your home

One of the biggest changes you can make to your home is actually decluttering your home of unwanted things. We can all be guilty of hoarding things. Even if we do stuff them in cupboards so they are out of sight. But this can then mean that your home is full, and the clutter can be overbearing. Take time to declutter your home. Sell unwanted items online and make some extra income, and then workout storage options for the items you do want to keep. It can make the world of difference.

The entrance

The entrance is the first thing people will sell, so making sure that this stands out could be the ideal way to set the tone for the rest of your home. A clutter free environment, light and airy as it may not get too much natural light, and some of your favorite pictures and accessories is all it takes to make your entrance hall stand out.

The kitchen

Your kitchen is more likely to be the hub of the home. This will be a place where you entertain and see people, the place where you discuss your day, maybe children do their homework or you enjoy your evening meal. It’s a versatile space not just for cooking, which is why investing in it can be pricey. A new kitchen could set you back quite a bit, and while it gives you creative freedom, it may not be on the cards. However, if you do want to make changes brightening up walls, painting kitchen cupboards and organising cupboards for a clutter free work surface could be small changes that create a big impact.

The bathroom

Along with the kitchen, a bathroom renovation can be seen as a quite a pricey job to do in your home. It can cause a lot of upheaval as well so you may want to research how to remodel your bathroom closely before tackling this room. However, you can also find that your bathroom can be changed on a budget as well, if you don’t want to fork out for complete new suite. Changing just the bath or the basin, for example. You could also think about making changes to the walls and tiles you have in there. It may only be smaller changes, but it could help you create a cleaner more tidier look.

Your bedroom

Your bedroom is probably very low on your priority list when it comes to decorating, wouldn’t you agree? We are more likely to decorate other rooms in our home, especially ones that we think people will see more. However, our bedrooms are just as important. It is the place for us to relax and unwind at night. Renovating a bedroom doesn’t need to be expensive. You can, of course, invest in the furniture you have in their. But other than that cosmetic change such as wall colours, and accessories that you display do not need to break the bank.

Living spaces

The living spaces are by far some of the easiest rooms in your home to decorate. Which is why so many people change them quite often. A lot of people like to change their living rooms seasonally, introducing new colours and accessories to enjoy. But you can also overhaul your living room in other ways. Clutter can be a big one, but you could also invest in new furniture as well as making statements in the room. A feature wall always works well as it draws the attention of the eye and can be done with colour, wallpaper or your favorite prints and pictures framed.

Your back garden and exterior of your home

Finally, the exterior of your home can often be neglected, unless of course you love to garden and see it as a hobby. But your gardens and exterior of your home is essentially the first thing people will see. Spending time on the lawns, looking after the flowers in the flower beds and generally tidying up and clearing away debris can make a big difference to how it looks.

I hope that this has given you some inspiration on how you can overhaul your home.
