Out And About: Dressed For The Theater

By Unefemme @DejaPseu

Tuesday night we went to see “Amélie, A New Musical” at the Music Center in downtown LA. I wanted to dress up a little bit but still be comfortable, and these leather-blocked leggings (purchased in late 2015) are among the most comfortable I own. I threw on a simple black v-neck sweater (similar here) some chunky faux pearls (several years old) and my tweed jacket. I thought this outfit worked well, and I’d definitely wear again.

We managed to snap this photo in between rain showers. Sorry, didn’t get closeups but I’ll try to get some better shots of the outfit when the weather is more conducive.

The musical itself was fun, not great. I should stipulate that I’m not the biggest fan of musical theater, and have trouble at times hearing the lyrics, so am probably not the most receptive audience. But the performances were quite good, and I loved the staging. Overall, it was entertaining.

One note on blog post scheduling: I have such a backlog of travel-related posts, that I’ve decided to add one more day to my posting schedule. Look for these on Tuesdays.

Do you have a go-to outfit for going to the theater or other events?
