Our Schools Are No Longer Safe For Children – Bukola Saraki Warns

A former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has raised alarm over the frequent reviews of abduction, assault and homicide of Nigerian faculty kids.

Lately, Hanifa Abubakar, a 5-year-old was kidnapped and murdered by her faculty proprietor.

Additionally, Sylvester Oromoni died in November 2021, after he was allegedly bullied by 5 schoolmates of Dowen School.

Saraki in commemoration of the Worldwide Day of Schooling urged Nigerians to do higher in defending kids in faculties.

On his Twitter web page, Saraki wrote: "As a father, over the previous few months, I've struggled to comprise my grief and anger concerning the frequency of reviews of assaults, abductions, and even homicide of younger Nigerian faculty kids.

"It's clear that our faculties are now not as safe.

"As we commemorate #InternationalDayOfEducation, all of us in Nigeria should discover it in ourselves to say a prayer for the households of Hanifa, Sylvester, Keren and all others.

"Today should be dedicated to them and should serve as a painful reminder that we must all do better."
