Our First Year’s 5 Most Popular Posts

By Appraisingpages @appraisjngpages

In addition to Justine’s favorite posts and Amanda’s favorite posts we thought it’d be important to showcase our most favorite posts, decided by the stats that WordPress.com (our old hosting site) and Google Analytics (our new stat organizer) provides for us.  We rely on our stats to tell us what content our readers love to see, and this is what you had to say:

5.  Review: Half-Blood by Jennifer Armentrout vs. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

This was a great post in which Justine described the somewhat annoying but still entertaining similarities between Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy series and Jennifer L. Armentrout’s Half Blood series.  To date, we’ve never done another post like this one and perhaps that’s why it’s so popular, because it’s so unique! Do you think these series are similar?

4.  Review: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon

To be honest, this one baffles us as to why it’s so high out of the hundreds of posts we’ve had the past year.  Amanda didn’t particularly like it (I think “complicated feelings” was the term used) and it isn’t a novel that’s generally given a lot of buzz, to our knowledge there aren’t any summer blockbuster versions currently in production!  The book does do a good job of showing the intensity and complexity of autism, so perhaps the hot topic of autism-spectral disorders brings readers here.

3.  Hunger Games DVD Release Party Guide

Seneca inspired pin!

This was another great post by Justine, and we don’t have to wonder why this one was so popular.  She covers everything from food to prizes, and we’re glad that it ranks so highly.  Especially now that the Twilight and Harry Potter franchises are over The Hunger Games is what keeps us book nerds waiting in line at movie theatres and stores everywhere, we just have to see our favorite books on the big screen!

2.  Author Interview: Rebecca Donovan

Author Rebecca Donovan has been getting a lot of buzz lately for her series Barely Breathing, and we were lucky enough to interview her in the early days of our blog.  We can say that she was so pleasant to correspond with and Justine loved her books.

1.  Story-Inspired Experience: Rhiannon’s Tattoos

There’s absolutely no question that this was our most popular post from the past year.  As soon as I pinned one of the pictures to Pinterest it was getting re-pinned everywhere, and even still when a popular pinner features it we’ll get another couple hundred views!  It’s no wonder, Rhiannon and her gorgeous tattoos make for a great story.  Inspired by Harry PotterThe Hunger Games, and Divergent, any fan of books (or even just tattoos!) will love her art and what she has to say about it.

And that’s it, our top 5!  It’s fun to do a countdown sometimes, did any of your favorite posts make the cut?
