Our First Brains recently released their LP What You Were, and we’re captivated by their track “Open-Ended, Unrequited Love”. As expected, the drums are loud and kept to the forefront, and the lead vocals are raw and authentic, delivering lyrics like: “Closure’s over rated/more a fan of open-ended unrequited love for you,” — a sentiment we’ve all experienced before. This is what punk is about — delivering something visceral and painfully true — and this band does it very well.
