Orlando Weeks, former frontman of The Maccabees, has shared his debut solo material in the form of ‘Safe in Sound’. The single comes ahead of the release of his first solo album later this year. Written early in 2018 as Orlando and his partner anticipated the birth of their son, the restrained shoegazey melodies are wrapped up in swirling guitars, jazz-infused ‘Penny Lane’-esque interludes and gently lilting, heartfelt vocals about ‘endless love’: ‘I would wait forever to hear that sound you’ll make’.
