I hope you all had a lovely holiday!
While it’s still cold outside, it’s nice to relive the beautiful June wedding reception of Lindsay and Gian Franco.
It was all easily done using my fonts and some shimmer paper!
I loved the color combination the bride requested for this invitation.
My Dom Loves Mary Calligraphy Font, with added flourishes, is featured on each card of the invitation suite.
The ornament in turquoise from my Cantoni Hand Drawn Ornaments adds a fresh, modern feel.
The white card stock in ice silver and the purple backing in amethyst are from Marsupial Papers.
I was so happy to be able to celebrate with the lovely couple. Their fairytale union began
when the bride went to Uruguay after college. There she met the dashing groom, Gian Franco.
The wedding and reception were held at the elegant Marriott Quorum in Addison on
the Dallas Parkway. Stephanie Gibbons and staff were extremely helpful and attentive.
The decor made the room come alive!
From the purple and white centerpieces , created by Jessica Westcott of Felicity Florist,
and the turquoise table clothes to the purple glow of the up-lights and votive candles,
everything was awash in beautiful color.
The DIY table numbers and menus matched the invitation suite.
The table numbers were named after places in Uruguay that were special to the couple.
They were printed on a home computer and attached to the amethyst shimmer card stock.
The tent cards were from Paper Source.
Delicious heart shaped cookies from “It’s a Mary Cake” doubled as escort cards and favors.
A simple decorative cage from a craft store, painted turquoise with purple ribbon and fresh flowers
became a lovely Card box.
The 8.5″ x 11″ Bar Signs utilized the same Dom Loves Mary script font and were placed in plastic frames.
Three tiered glass goblets held purple water balls lit from within with matching submersible lights.
The DIY Mr. and Mrs. Cards were printed on 8 1/2 x 11 paper then backed with the
same amethyst paper.
I love how the turquoise ribbon is threaded through the cards and tied to the chairs.
So a table of photos from that magical day were on display for guests to view.
Photo Booths are really popular right night and the guests love them because they
are super fun and give the guests a keepsake of the event.
This sign features the same fonts and colors of the wedding and was
adhered to a foam board.
The bride and groom wanted to have props for their photo booth which are
fun and super easy to make. The sticks and wooden pieces were purchased
at a Craft store then painted and lettered with cute sayings.
How cute are these pics of wedding guests having a blast?
Plus, they get to take it home as a reminder of Lindsay and Franco’s
special day.
One highlight from the reception was the salsa dancers. During Lindsay and Franco’s
early dating days in Uruguay, they took salsa lessons and wanted to share the
dance with their wedding guests. This talented couple from Salsa by Sal danced for
the guests and then did some salsa lessons for them. The guests absolutely loved it!
What wedding reception is complete without a delicious wedding cake? I love the simplicity of
this cake in white with the three different designs on each layer topped with a beautiful silver “S”.
Fresh purple flowers rest on each layer of the cake.
This beauty was created by the ever popular Candy Haven in Denton, TX.
I hope these pics show the many things you can do yourself to create a beautiful event!
Felicidades to the happy couple!
