Opposing Obamacare Is A Terrible Electoral Strategy

Donald Trump is trailing in nearly all the polls, and he needs every single vote he can get to have a chance at the White House. That's why I find it very strange that he is still campaigning on repealing Obamacare.
Obamacare is not perfect, and it could be made much better with some changes. But one thing is sure -- it is much better than what we had before, and millions of Americans now have health insurance that could not have it before. About 20 million in fact.
What's going to happen if Obamacare is repealed, as Trump still says he would do if elected? The first thing is that most of that 20 million would no longer have health care insurance, and neither the congressional Republicans nor Trump have a plan to help those people.
Does it make sense to throw away millions of votes in a close election, just to keep the teabaggers happy (a group that would vote for Trump anyway)? I don't think it does. And it just shows me that Trump is not nearly as smart as he seems to think he is.
The charts above are from a new Gallup Poll -- done between July 1st and September 30th of a random national sample of 44,028 adults, with only a 1 point margin of error.
