Operation Wicked Wallies

By Meplusmytrainer @meplusmytrainer
It is Friday...again! It seems like only a week ago it was Friday lol. What a week. We are opening three new GoodLife Fitness locations this month. All in the Toronto area (or GTA as we locals call it). Markham, Scarborough and right downtown Toronto. It's so much fun opening new clubs, but it is also so much work. Take my word for it. I do not want to get anyone in trouble, but we are definitely a little behind schedule. Like a big "little". Somehow we always manage to pull it together and make it happen.
I did manage to sneak a few photos to share with you. I made a collage for your viewing pleasure.

Spoiler Alert! Check out the newest GoodLife!

I say it all the time but I work with absolute rock stars. Like the best of the best people. I probably don't tell them enough, but I am in love with all of them.
I am always a little hesitant to share the "mundane" details of my days and weeks in my blog. I was chatting with Sara from Ugi Fit (more on this another day) today and I was telling her about why I started this blog. It was to blog about my experiences with my personal trainer, when in fact it has become so much more then that. I hope that's ok. I will try not to bore you with the details of getting up, going to work, spilling my coffee or whatever other other innane things happen through out my day or life, because quite frankly I doubt that you care! Unless something really awesome happens that I absolutely HAVE to tell you, then you will be the first to know!
So I am totally on the Wicked Wallies bandwagon. If you have never heard of Wicked Wallies, well you probably have! It's basically a wall squat. My homies at Girls Gone Sporty have re-branded the boring old wall squat into the waaaay sexier Wicked Wallies. Click HERE for the details and how you can jump on the Wicked Wallies train as well! Today was Day #2 of Operation Wicked Wallies and we totally crushed (well ok just barely broke) the two minute mark. Check it.

I am not sure exactly how much or even when I will be blogging in the next week or so. I will be posting my "This Week in Workouts" in link up on Sunday (this serves as your official reminder!).  So don't forget to share your successes (or even challenges) from your last week in fitness, either in the comments section or by actually posting a link to your blog!
I am spending the weekend with friends in Stoney Creek and then heading on a roadie next week to Prince Albert (Saskatchewan) and then to Winnipeg (Manitoba) for some more new club action. There will be lots of travel and time zones, so I hope to stay in touch. I am thinking maybe some quality writing time on one or two or five of my flights might be on the horizon.
I have a friend and co-worker who has a cousin that passed away today after a battle with cancer. I can't stop thinking about her and her family and I hope that she somehow knows that I am thinking of her and sending all my positive vibes and love to her. Life is way to short, I mean really way to short and with October being Breast Cancer Awareness month I thought this was a good time to send my blog readers to The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation to find out about breast cancer awareness/fundraising initiatives in your area. 1 in 9 Canadians are expected to develop breast cancer and in 2012, there will be an estimated 22,700 more Canadian women diagnosed with breast cancer. That is about 62 people per day. Definitley not trying to be depressing or sad here, just sharing some facts. The great news is that with early detection and treatmend about 88% of women that are diagnosed with breast cancer are still alive five years or longer after their diagnosis. I have two aunts that were diagnosed with breast cancer and both are still strong and alive after quite a few years. My family is lucky. I know that. I am sending lots of love to my co-worker. xo xo xo xo xo
Tonight, I am thankful for relaxing Friday nights with one (or more) glasses of red wine and catching up with friends and PVR'ed episodes of The Young and the Restless. Simple things, right?
Happy Reading,
