Operation Smile Blog Tour

I would like to raise the awareness of Operation Smile. Operation Smile is an international children’s medical charity with a presence in more than 60 countries, whose network of more than 5,000 medical volunteers from over 80 countries is dedicated to helping improve the health and lives of children. Since its founding in 1982, Operation Smile has provided more than 3.5 million healthcare evaluations and conducted over 200,000 free surgeries for children and young adults born with cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities, as well as patients suffering from burns.
To build long-term self-sufficiency in developing countries, Operation Smile trains doctors and local medical professionals in its partner countries so they are empowered to treat their own local communities, donates medical equipment and supplies, and provides year-round medical treatment through its worldwide Comprehensive Care Centres. Following a trip to Rwanda to volunteer at one of Operation Smile’s medical projects in September The Overtones were so moved by what they saw they wanted to do more to help and recorded a heart-warming version of ‘Smile’ to help raise £56,000 to fund a return trip to Rwanda in April to help children still waiting for an operation. Cleft lips and cleft palates are the third most common birth defect globally and every three minutes a child is born with the debilitating, but easily treatable condition. It can cost just £150 to transform a child’s life forever with an operation that can take as little as 45 minutes. For every 75 singles sold, a smile will be brought to a child’s face in 2014.Fresh from the recent success of their third consecutive Top 5 album, 'Saturday Night At The Movies', the smoothest band this side of 1950s Hollywood - The Overtones - have today released a fabulously festive version of the 1954 Nat King Cole classic, 'Smile', to celebrate the season of goodwill and to help share a smile this Christmas. Sure to warm hearts and provide a delightful soundtrack to Christmas 2013, The Overtones’ ultimate feel good track is sure to get listeners in the mood and is the perfect accompaniment to an evening of festive treats and mulled wine. The velvety tones of the slick five piece are a stunning addition to Nat King Cole’s original arrangement and evocative of Christmases past, sure to get cheer and nostalgia flowing in equal measure.
Since 100% of net profits from each single will be donated to Operation Smile, the international charity dedicated to providing free cleft lip and cleft palate surgery in over 60 countries, it really is the gift that keeps on giving.‘Smile’ by The Overtones is available to download now for just £1.99 the single includes the 'Smile' music track, official 'Smile' music video and two bonus Christmas tracks from The Overtones, 'Winter Wonderland' and 'White Christmas'.For more information visit http://www.operationsmile.org.uk/Rwanda To buy the single, go to https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/smile-ep/id740996004Do check out The Honest Mum tomorrow for this Blog Tour.
