The browser also has the alternative to turn on HTTPS everywhere. This adds another layer of security and makes sure that the websites people visit are still using the right encryption protocols.

Web3 browser Opera has revealed a new set of security tools designed to assist its users in minimizing common risks posed by rogue Web3 ecosystem operators.

Web3 Guard is a new package of browser security features that promises to protect users against harmful decentralized applications (DApps), phishing attempts using seed phrases, and criminal actors.

The security tool analyzes DApps for known security risks, like suspicious code, security vulnerabilities, and audit reports. This helps consumers gain a better understanding of the DApp they intend to read and informs them if any of the vulnerabilities listed above are discovered.

The built-in security technologies would also monitor web pages for telltale signals of exploit, such as typical phishing keywords and attributes, without jeopardizing users’ privacy or personal information. Danny Yao, Opera’s senior product manager for cryptography, stated:

“Currently, Web3 Guard provides warnings and information to users so that they are not only aware of the potential risks in the moment, but also gradually become more familiar with the types of dangers specific to Web3. “

The new security features of the crypto browser include a harmful address checker that compares recipient addresses to a database of known hostile agents and warns users when suspicious activity is discovered. In addition, the browser offers the option to enable HTTPS everywhere, which adds an additional layer of protection and ensures that the websites the user accesses use trusted encryption techniques.

The browser published a new nonfungible token (NFT) capability in the first week of December, enabling users to explore the enormous NFT ecosystem through their browser.

The famous crypto browser that gained popularity by offering its native currency to users for using its platform to explore the web has become a central point of contact for Web3.
