One Step Camp

We all have that one friend who does so much for others. That friend that really want to impact the world. Today I wanted to share about a special friend in my life named Katie who not only has influenced my life since we were about 12 years old, but the way she inspires others around her.

 When I first met Katie we were in middle school, she had just moved to our neighborhood because her family wanted to be closer together. In a sad circumstance, her Mom had cancer and they wanted to be around loved ones before she passed. I was able to get to her know her Mom a few years before she passed away our sophomore year in high school. Sadly a few years later when we were 21, her Dad passed away also from cancer. It was something I barely knew how to handle myself, let alone watch my friend have to endure herself twice.
It was during that time that she began searching for a way to give back to those children that also had to endure pain of not only loosing a loved one through cancer, but also fighting with cancer. She researched and found about One Step Camp.
Today, One Step Camp was 1 of 10 cancer camps chosen by Northwestern Mutual to be apart of their contest. If they end up in the top 3, they will win 20,000! That $20,00 will help send around 20 kids to the camp. The content runs until January 7th. With your help in voting here, we can help give these kids one amazing experience through One Step Camp!
