One Blogger Meets Another in NYC...

By Boberika @boberika

Happy Friday peeps, I'm so happy I have the day off to prepare for my event 'Even Hipsters Have Christmas' tomorrow. It should be a fun one, with plenty of surprises for my guests... I'm also down to my last two blogs on NYC and I have saved the best to last!

During my trip I met up with food blogger Michelle Kleinberg who runs the blog The Moody Foodie and whose family owns the very popular Clinton Street Baking Company, but I need to do a separate post on that one (it will be the final NYC post on Monday). Michelle was so lovely and gave me a great run down of places to eat at and the food scene in NY.

We started off for a drink at a cute bar called The Diamond in Green Point, then she suggested we head to Fette Sau for dinner (one I needed to tick off my list). Fette Sau is a Barbeque Restaurant located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and once I was there I could smell it was the perfect place. The décor is rustic and the centerpiece is a Southern Pride gas-and-wood-fired smoker capable of slow-cooking 500 pounds of meat at a time. Head chef Matt Lang, late of Pearl Oyster Bar, swaps surf for turf with a rotating menu and on the night we went we proceeded to have pork belly, ribs, pulled pork and brisket, all sold by weight and served on butcher's paper and washed down with root beer.

It was my perfect evening of good food, conversation and meeting someone else whose as passionate about food as I am. Thanks so much for your time Michelle, I can't wait for you to come to London so I can show you the London food scene!
