GUEST POST9 Things on My Bucket Listby K. Trap Jones
1. Enter a Great White Shark cage: I have a fascination with Great White Sharks. I get a lot of crazy looks from people when I tell them I want to do this, but for me, it would be the ultimate test; to come face to face with something that could tear you apart in a second. There is something beautiful about animals which humans have yet to control.
2. Have a Tomato Farm: I can’t live without tomatoes. I eat them like apples almost every day. I have an insane goal to one day have a tomato field where I could sell high end quality tomatoes. Trap’s Tomatoes…it’ll happen one day and I’ll be there on my front porch sipping coffee while overlooking my tomato dynasty.
3. House with Hidden Passageways: I would like to design a house with all kinds of cool hidden passageways and rooms. Dens hidden behind bookshelves, unseen stairways which lead to the different floors. It really serves no purpose other than I would think it was extremely cool.
4. The Guitarist: My oldest son has become a great guitarist and creates his own music. It would be amazing to sit in an arena and watch as 20,000 people cheer him on while he blazes through guitar riffs.
5. The Pitcher: My middle son is one heck of a baseball pitcher and has been excelling at the game since he was seven years old. I can see myself sitting in the ballpark, eating hotdogs and peanuts while watching him strikeout the batters.
6. The Baller: My youngest son loves the game of basketball. I would love to watch him play Point Guard in the NBA, calling the plays as he dribbles the ball down the court.
7. On the Set: Probably every writer has this one, but it would be a really cool experience to have one of my stories turned into a screenplay and end up on the big screen. Sure, watching it would be amazing, but I would like to be a part of the movie creation process and be on the set with the Director, Producers, Actors, etc. It would be an eye opening experience to be able to participate in the film creation.
8. Buy Futuristic Crap: It’s 2015 already, I mean come on, where are all of the cool futuristic things like hoverboards, jetpacks, spaceships, etc. I would like to at least live long enough to have my own personal teleporter. Is that too much to ask?
9. Eerie Effects: Growing up, I wanted to be a special effects artist. I fell in love with horror at an early age by watching the television show Tales from the Crypt. I find horror to be very creative and the monsters, set designs, blood splattering, etc really caught my attention to where I wanted to work on movie set production.
ABOUT THE BOOK
One Bad Fur DayK. Trap Jones
Call it odd, call it off-beat, call it fantasy; but don’t think for a moment that One Bad Fur Day is anything other than a suspense driven horror ride that blurs the lines between harsh reality and brutal imagery…As Hurricane Katrina barrels through the Louisiana bayous, the animal population is forced to deal with the tumultuous upheaval of their world. Sheriff Sid and his wife are caught completely off-guard by the natural disaster unfolding around them as they battle not only the turbulent winds and flooding waters, but heinous acts committed by other creatures inhabiting the backwaters. Following a brutal assault on his wife, Sid is forced to fight off voodoo-priestess snakes, a junkyard raccoon, deceitful badgers, and a band of roving power-hungry alligators. While clinging to his tenuous hold as sheriff, Sid must find a way to recapture what is rightfully his and exact his revenge.K. Trap Jones does a fantastic job of pairing the genuine horror of a natural disaster with a story of deceit, betrayal and vengeance that pulls you in and forces the reader to identify with Sid as he journeys through the darkest reaches of the bayous, facing deadly encounters, on One Bad Fur Day!
