On TV Tonight: The Fosters, Under The Dome Recommended

At 8PM:

There isn’t anything I’d recommend. So, take this time to catch up on something on your DVR, or possibly Orange Is The New Black on Netflix.

At 9PM:

The Fosters (ABC Family)- This has grown into a really solid drama about a grab-bag family with varied problems. It is also one of the gayest shows on TV, in terms of the parents being a lesbian couple, and them dealing with issues on a regular basis. For kids, it’s a show featuring a family comprised of Foster children, of which there are over a million in the system currently. It’s a great show to watch with your kids (probably ages 10 and up would be best, as the show does deal with more mature topics like sex, drugs, and the morning after pill) to trigger conversations about what it is like to be a foster kid, or grow up with two parents of the same sex. I’m of the opinion that this is the best series ABC Family has produced, to date.

At 10PM:

Under The Dome (CBS)- It moves a lot faster than most CBS procedurals do, offering up new mysteries and intricacies in each episode. It is an excellent diversion to a lot of the crappier network TV shows that are foreign produced. I’m predicting we’ll start seeing the death of major characters shortly, so go ahead and catch up with past episodes on Amazon Prime, so you can be ready.
