Sarande mostly has pebbly beaches. The owner of our apartment told us that if we went south, to Ksamil, we would surely find some sandy beaches:

Since Ksamil was located only a couple of kilometers from Sarande, we decided to go for a drive. But guess what… Lars and I didn’t make it to Ksamil. At least not that day. The scenery at both sides of the road between the two towns was simply too beautiful. At one side, you have the coast, with the island of Corfu at the horizon. On the other side, there is the Butrint National Park.
In other words, mountains, lakes, the sea, big and small and big islands, … It was all so captivating and I felt the urge to take pictures:
