Another run through the vinyl stacks. Keeper or Tosser? We'll decide.
Just finished listening to this one. For those amongst you who, like myself, are huge fans of the early 80's post-punk world, you may want to dig into this. A spontaneous collaboration between Jaz Coleman and Geordie of Killing Joke, with Peter Hook of Joy Division/New Order. Recorded in 1993 at Peter Hook's studio, as Hook was getting ousted from New Order, the recordings were lost until November 2019 when Chris Kettle (formerly of E.G. Records) handed Jaz a DAT cassette at a record signing in a London record store, remarking "look what I found"
The K÷93 EP is released as numbered 10″ on clear vinyl in a gatefold sleeve. Limited to just 2000 copies worldwide, this beautifully presented release also includes a gig flyer postcard and exclusive sleeve notes by Jaz Coleman and Peter Hook.
I just finished spinning it, and it's more meditative than you might expect, buy Hooky's bass sounds great, and I've never really heard Jaz sing better. Worth checking out for you Post-punk aficionados. Verdict: Keeper
