‘On 5′ at Ascot with a Menu Designed by James Martin

Today we went to the new hospitality restaurant, ‘on 5′ at Ascot Racecourse.

This luxury experience included a three course Tmenu designed by celebrity chef James Martin, afternoon tea and of course splendid private views of the races. The view of the course from the outside balcony ‘on 5′ is amazing.

One: Take the lift up to level five and enjoy a welcome drink of champagne at your table. The service is impeccable with each table having a dedicated waiter or waitress that will care for your every need.

Two: Enjoy your starter of your three course meal. This can be ordered any time after 12.00. The beauty of ‘on 5′ is that you decide when you want your courses. They don’t need to be served one after each other. You can fit your meal in with watching the races. I particularly liked this good quality cutlery embossed with ‘5’. The started designed by James Martin was a delicious crab risotto with strong lime flavours.

Three: After watching and maybe betting on a couple of horses you may wish to order your main course. Today’s menu was duck breast, fondant potatoes and minted kale. The betting process is stress free as you can bet straight from your table with assistants before each race visiting your table and helping you out. When you are ready you can order dessert. Four: If you wish you can add the option of enjoying afternoon tea. This is served after 4.00 and is a selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes. The scones are served with cream and Jam.

Five: After your meal you relax on the outdoor terrace. This is perfect for taking in the atmosphere of the races and for some much welcome fresh air.

‘On 5 ‘ at Ascot is a very special experience. If you want to treat yourself to an indulgent experience then this is the place to go. It takes your ordinary racing day to a whole different level.
