The Washington TimesI’m so used to Obama lying that it hasn’t crossed my mind in at least four years to suppose that he might sometimes tell the truth. So, you can imagine my surprise when I found myself agreeing with eight consecutive statements spoken by the Shah of DC.
According to The Washington Times,
“President Obama told Democratic donors Wednesday night that most Americans don’t have time to think about the details of the Benghazi terrorist attack or the problems with Obamacare.”
Thus, Democrats need not fear political repercussions from those incidents in the upcoming November elections. Since the people “don’t have time to think,” the politicians will be able to get away with just about anything.
We might wonder why “people don’t have time to think,” but I’ll save that for another time. We might also wonder at Obama’s cynicism, but I’ll also save that one for another time.
For now, I’ll merely concentrate on the big story that Obama Told the Truth!
“. . the president took his usual shots at the Republican Party, suggesting its members are focused on the wrong issues and frequently “obfuscate and they bamboozle and sometimes don’t say what’s true.”
Ahh! OMG! Some Republican politicians lie! No kidding?! Whatta scoop. This is News!!!
But what about Democrats? Do you suppose any Democrats lie? Could we think of just one Democrat who might lie?
How ‘bout Barack Obama? Does he lie about the unemployment rate, the inflation rate, the economic “recovery,” who’s responsible for Benghazzi and Ukraine, and who’s supporting the ISIL rebels in Syria and also Iraq?
I just love listening to Obama (who once criticized his minister, Jeremiah Wright, in Chicago saying, “Your problem is that you won’t lie.”) criticizing other politicians for lying. Has there been another president in modern times who’s more famous for lying than Obama? And yet, here he is, a world champion liar criticizing Republicans as liars.
And I’m not here to defend Republicans. Obama is right. Many Republican politicians do lie. Probably most of ‘em. Maybe all of ‘em. But it’s hard to find a politician of any political party who lies as much, as proudly and as shamelessly as Obama.
“Furthermore, the president said, Americans cannot be bothered with the GOP’s focus on the Benghazi attack and the administration’s response to it, or with the rampant problems and constant changes to Mr. Obama’s signature health-care reform law.
“Over time, they start thinking, ‘you know what, all politicians are the same.’”
Obama is right.
“And most folks don’t have the time to sort out all the intricacies of Obamacare or Benghazi, or this or that.”
By “intricacies” Obama is referring to the truth (and lies) that are buried in the “details” of the various laws or scandals. Still, Obama is again telling the truth. I’m surprised.
“They don’t have time for that,” he said. “All they know is it’s not working for them.”
Obama implies that, given Americans profound ignorance, if blame for the a government that’s “not working for them” can be shifted to the Republicans, the Democrats are golden. That perspective is cynical but nevertheless fundamentally true.
S.O.B. . . . Obama is telling the truth. Is he on drugs, or what?
“And so people then pull out and they drop out, and they don’t work. And that further entrenches those who are protecting an unjust status quo.”
Obama neglects to note that he is one of those supporting that “unjust status quo”. Still, technically, Obama again told the truth! What are the odds?
I wouldn’t have believe it was possible. Obama spoke seven consecutive sentences and the told the truth every time. I’ve never before seen that from Obama. I am shocked, shocked I tell you!
Have our national circumstances become so desperate that Obama has been forced to abandon lies and return to at least some telling of truth?
“Mr. Obama added that “’he Republican Party has been taken over by people who just don’t believe in government.’”
Obama is referring to “Tea Party” Republicans (who do believe in constitutional government) but don’t believe in big government. Which, again, means that Obama has technically told the truth again. Not the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth–but some truth and that’s impressive.
Dayahm.
That’s at least eight consecutive truths told by Obama. I feel like I’ve stumbled into the Twilight Zone.
But it’s also true, that while the Republicans have been seriously influenced by Tea Party types who believe in small, constitutional government, the Democrat party has been taken over by socialists and communists who are so dedicated to the idea of big government that they the sneer at the concept of Liberty.
And, although Obama didn’t say so, it’s also substantially true that America has been taken over by collectivists in both political parties who believe that all that matters is the economy, the currency, corporate profits, a strong police state and the New World Order.
In any case, Obama more-or-less told the truth eight times in a row. Somebody call Guinness–I think we have a record.
