Ombré is a color technique that is largely used in hair design, textiles, the fashion industry, wedding cakes, and nail art. In Ombré, one color hue gradual blends to another, usually by moving tints and shades from light to dark. The word itself means "to shade" in French, and this stunning effect has been around for several years. Ombré Walls are in style now; rather than an entire wall with covered in just one or two colors, a fading technique is used here. Colors either gradually blend in or are seem in blocks arranged either from the floor to the ceiling or sideways. In all cases, you would have to get creative with color and not be afraid of using more than one tint on the same wall. I would just pick one focal wall in the room and match the colors with the furniture and rest of the decor in the room. A lighter color would look the best in a small room, and you can go bold in a larger space. Here's a tutorial if you are interesting in learning more - Ombre Paint Effect Tutorial From Dulux.
Although this does not look like an easy task for the painter, I think it is totally worth the effort. I personally think the final outcome has to be admired from a distance. I have a few shades of pink, green, yellow, and blue to get you thinking about creating Ombré walls in your own home!
