Oh So Tasty: Fat Rabbit

By Ohsocynthia @OhSoCynthia

Uptown is one of Dallas' most popular entertainment destinations and Fat Rabbit is located smack dab in the middle of the district on McKinney Ave. at Routh St. Featuring Global-American cuisine paired with hand-crafted cocktails, local spirits and craft beer Fat Rabbit offers a comfortable setting with modest prices making them a great choice for lunch, brunch, happy hour and late night dining. The place has been open since 2015 and I'd been in for drinks a time or two but had never gone for a meal. When they reached out to invite me in, I was happy for the excuse to give them a try. First off, y'all know I am a sucker for a great patio and theirs is pretty amazing. It wraps around the McKinney Ave. and Routh St. sides of the building giving you plenty of great people-watching options. Inside, you have booth, hightop cocktail tables or regular 4-6 top tables giving you plenty of options depending on the type of seating you prefer. We started out with some craft cocktails, indulged in a selection of appetizers (pictured above) and moved on to sample the 6 oz. Lump Crab Cake and Honey Bourbon Chicken. The Observer's Scott Reitz says he was "seduced by the burger" at Fat Rabbit. I didn't try the burger but after reading his article, I'm going to have to go back and try it. Frankly, the apps were my favorite bites. The Fat Rabbit Wings and Spicy Rock Shrimp were fantastic.  Susie O. of Susie Drinks Dallas says, "The restaurant, complete with a generous patio and upstairs VIP bar (called Masque) bills itself as a purveyor of American food. While that sounds a bit "done" for the area, they do it well. Their food selections are all over the place... (but) The good part? They seem to do it all right." I couldn't agree more. Fat Rabbit is located at 2533 McKinney Ave, Dallas, TX 75201, 469-941-4085, Fatrabbitdallas.com
