of Montreal and opener Pillar Point put on a dazzling, psychedelic performance this Wednesday at Neumos in Seattle. Although the night began with a small set back with the announcement of opener La Luz’s cancellation, local synth-rock band Pillar Point took over as a last minute replacement and still managed to deliver a dance-worthy performance to warm up the crowd.

of Montreal’s performance was nothing short of fantastically bizarre. As the band entered the stage, the audience was greeted with a spandex clad masked ringmaster who provided the intro to the band’s lead vocalist, Kevin Barnes. Along with musical stylings reminiscent of 60′s era psych-rock, of Montreal’s elaborate performance also featured colorful kaleidoscopic projections as well as strange performances by the band’s back-up dancers. So, if you fee like getting weird, be sure to catch a show on their tour or check out their latest album, Lousy With Sylvianbriar.
