Wicked Cool Toys has been the master toymaker for Cabbage Patch Kids for a year now. Since then, we’ve seen the Cabbage Patch Kid aisle gradually change, as the old stock was discounted and new Wicked Cool Toy stock was added. Not only did Wicked Cool Toys relaunch the brand with a fresh look, but they also introduced limited edition, all vinyl 18″ dolls into the mix. For Toy Fair 2016, Wicked Cool Toys introduced attendees to nine new Cabbage Patch Kids, two new limited edition models and an innovative, interactive Cabbage Patch Kid baby.
Below are pictures of the new releases in the core line for 2016.
Four new pets will be introduced, as well. The other big toy they showed off was Baby So Real. Baby So Real is an interactive Cabbage Patch Kid baby with eyes that digitally move and blink, giving her a variety of expressions. She works with an app that makes play even more fun.
What we saw at Toy Fair was a prototype, so it may change prior to hitting the market. Watch my Toy Fair recap on CPK to see the eyes move around and to see how the app interacts with play as the baby is being fed.
Last, but not least, we have the two limited edition dolls for 2016. Like last year, these will be limited to 1,000 dolls. They’re 100% vinyl and 18″ tall. This years limited edition dolls are Eden Joelle (african american) and Zoe Sky (caucasian). They’ll be released later this year.
