Top, A market stall in Sham Shui Po, HK; CHANEL jeans; River Island duster coat; F&F metallic shoes, Longchamp Le Pliage Tote. I did it: I bought into the duster coat trend. Fluid, unstructured and so effortlessly me, I bought this in a completely heady, jet lagged state last week and I haven't really taken it off much since. Sorry, I'm not sorry. It's just got to be done when you find The One in the sartorial stakes. It's also a little heavier than most dusters I'd spotted - Topshop, I'm looking at you - and frankly I am frozen now that I'm back on home turf.
So! Transitional dressing is well and truly upon us. I desperately wish it was sweater weather but the other day I pulled a rollneck number on and was hotter than the sun by the time lunchtime dawned on me. No outfit photos from that particular escapade I'm afraid...(!) I wore this transitional ensemble to work and it's just right for office vs. Great Outdoors use. The peplum top has an awesome boxy fit up top with a chiffon hem - ideal for a smidgen of skin whilst still being appropriate. I also dug out my vintage CHANEL jeans then slung on my metallic pointed toe flats from F&F for a slick edge. Easily one of my favorite fuss-free autumn looks.
Life lately has been super odd. The autumn for me forever marks a shift in mood and attitude, and thus far, autumn 2014 has thrown plenty of curveballs at me. I'm about 85% decided on something really really huge but as with all annoying blog posts like these, you'll have to wait until I can say more. (XOXO, Gossip Girl.)
