WhatsApp To make the experience of its users even more fun, it is constantly working on new features. The Meta-owned instant messaging app is rolling out a new feature called Voice Message Transcription. However, it has been brought to only a few lucky beta users at the moment. With the help of the new feature, users will be able to read the content of voice messages instead of listening to voice notes. This will be very useful for many users. Come, let’s know about it in detail.
WhatsApp Voice Message Transcription
WABetainfo, a website tracking the upcoming features of the popular instant messaging app WhatsApp, has informed about the roll out of the Voice Message Transcription feature.
As per the latest report, WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.9.0.70 update available on Testflight app has revealed that WhatsApp is rolling out Voice message transcripts feature for some beta testers.
Earlier, the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.3.0.73 update revealed that the company is working on a feature that will allow users to read voice messages. However, now it has started rolling out.
How will it work?
A screenshot has also been given in the report. In this, you can clearly see how this new feature works. Now with the voice message coming on WhatsApp chat, you will also get the option of Transcript language along with star, forward, delete and report etc. This will be very useful when you are out somewhere and cannot or do not want to listen to the voice note, then it will transcribe it there.
Will be able to disable by going to setting
Please tell that this feature will be enabled by default. However, if you do not want to use it, you can disable it. For this, you have to go to the Chats section in the Settings of WhatsApp. Then here you will get the option of Voice Message Transcriber. From here you will be able to disable it.
Note that this feature will make no difference to end-to-end encryption. The transcription process takes place on the user’s device using the language pack. For this reason, the feature of transcribing messages is only available to some users on newer versions of iOS. It uses the new API provided in iOS 16.
Keep in mind that right now this feature is being rolled out to only a few beta users. In the coming time, it will be rolled out for all the users.
