Scammers’ new destination now WhatsApp has been made. Now scammers are targeting people by making WhatsApp calls instead of normal calls. For some time now, the number of scam calls coming on WhatsApp has increased a lot. The special thing is that these spam calls do not come from normal numbers but from international numbers and make people their victims. In the latest report of Wabetainfo, it has been informed that users have got new features in WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.10.0.70 update. These features also include a feature ‘Silence unknown callers’. As the name suggests, this new feature allows users to silence WhatsApp calls coming from unknown numbers. In such a situation, if you are in a meeting or doing some important work, then such unknown calls will not disturb you and later you can report and block them by seeing the number. Earlier this feature has also been available to Android beta users.
According to the report, users will have to go to WhatsApp Settings to use the ‘Silence unknown callers’ feature. Go to Settings and click on the Privacy option. Here they will see the option of Calls. In calls, users can activate this feature by turning on the toggle of ‘Silence unknown callers’. As soon as this feature becomes active in the phone, it will help you to get rid of spam calls.
Call coming from international number can be alarm bell
Many people on the social media platform have complained that they have been receiving scam calls on WhatsApp for some time now. The special thing is that these spam calls are not coming from random numbers but from international numbers. These calls are coming to them from international numbers like +84 (code for Vietnam), +62 (country code for Indonesia) and +223 (code for Mali). At the moment it is not clear whether these calls are coming from those countries or scammers are using these fake numbers. The government has also advised users to be cautious about such international WhatsApp calls. Apart from this, now WhatsApp has introduced such features.
