I’ve stayed at a number of Novotel properties in the past, and they’re all centrally-located, four-star business hotels that also cater to leisure travelers like me, so I was pleasantly surprised they have resorts too like the one I stumbled upon, Novotel Bali Benoa. I like the brand a lot, so I was eager to stay at the property, which happens to be the first from AccorHotels in Bali. Read more…
Novotel Bali Benoa is situated on a tanjung (cape) far away from the more crowded portions of Kuta and Seminyak and beside the luxurious Nusa Dua. There only exist a few resorts in the area; thus, the resort provides its guests with a sense of exclusivity and serenity.
As mentioned, I’m no stranger to Novotel, as I’ve stayed in other ones prior. Under the well-regarded AccorHotels portfolio along with Sofitel, it’s a four-star midscale brand aimed towards leisure and business travelers alike, with their hotels’ key attribute being “located in the heart of major international cities, business districts, and tourist destinations.” Novotel Bali Benoa is the first AccorHotels property in Bali, yet that doesn’t mean it has not kept up with the times.
Taken in by an Uber car from Seminyak, we were ushered into a huge native pavilion that serves as the resort’s reception area. A kind Balinese woman accessed our reservation, gave us information about the resort, and handed the keys to our room at once.
We were billeted in a Tropical Terrace Room located in the resort’s beach wing, hidden behind layers of foliage. The key feature of the room is, of course, its own private veranda that comes with a pair of lounge chairs and a small garden.
The style of the room is Balinese, but it felt modern nonetheless. Elegant native décor adorn the room, complemented by chic furnishings expected of a Novotel. Warm colors and lighting complete the look, resulting to a pleasant resting environment.
The well-appointed room comes with five-star features and amenities that start with a perfectly comfortable bed complemented by fluffy pillows. Other conveniences include a couch, a desk, a minibar with coffee and tea making facility, an LED TV, and a closet with electronic safe.
The spacious, immaculate bathroom, meanwhile, has the free-standing tub as its centerpiece, and it came supplied with a set of towels and eco-friendly amenities.
We had our breakfast at the breezy Uluwatu Restaurant, and we were treated to an international spread with a number of Indonesian specialties.
Although admittedly, the resort’s beach area isn’t as large as some of the others, it affords a stunning view of the ocean and sunset. We spent a lot of time lounging on the beds, letting the cool breeze waft across, and sipping the cute Pina Coladas from Cocos Beach Restaurant and Bar.
Their beautifully-landscaped swimming pools with whirlpools are truly something to rave about. But aside from these, the resort has a number of other activities for the whole family, such as tennis, billiards, darts, table tennis, and watersports like parasailing and jet ski. Also on offer daily are sport and cultural activities, which include Balinese dance lessons.
Further, it boasts of a complete range of facilities, including Novotel’s signature In Balance Fitness, In Balance Spa, Kid’s Club, and Web Corner equipped with iMacs and PCs.
Surely, Novotel Bali Benoa is a great choice for those for those seeking an exclusive holiday spot that doesn’t break the bank. And for it follows the high standards set by AccorHotels, guests are assured of fantastic rooms, facilities, dining, and service.
