Last year my friend Rob Edgcumbe and I decided to make our own pre-ISAP field trip, exploring aviation museums large and small in the Norfolk, VA area.  One institution was the Air Power Park, with its diverse collection of jets, missiles and rockets.  This is the J-model of the F-89, the last version to see service and the first combat aircraft armed with air-to-air nuclear weapons and to actually fire a live one.  Entering service in 1950, they were retired in 1969.
