 so eerie to see the north end deserted on marathon monday- normally it would be crawling with people, one of the busiest nights of the year.
this morning life went on as usual- but not quite. subdued.   taking the train to cambridge the usually jovial conductors  were looking down and away not wanting to catch anyone's eye.  no one want's to seem jovial today so it's better to just avoid. i've overheard several conversations about the bombs-  one man saying he was present at the second explosion.
