March 2018
During the 2018 International Society for Aviation Photography symposium, Nikon set up this Texan for a demonstration of a high-speed flash sync flash photography technique (using one of their D850 cameras). Shutter speed was 1/2500 sec which allowed a deep blue sky while twelve flash units provided the lighting on the aircraft. An interesting technique that I look forward to trying out on smaller subjects. First flown in 1935, the iconic Texan served in air forces around the world and finally retired from active duty in 1995 from the South African Air Force. Nikon D850 w/14-24mm.
