The organization US Sailing has joined with Old Pulteney Single Malt Scotch Whisky to recognize with an award a special but unsung sailor who has contributed to the world of sailing. They're not looking for those heroic sailors who cross oceans and then write great books about their experiences, and they're not looking for a sailor who wins races. Their definition of a hero is someone who makes a difference in other sailors' lives. They'll accept nominations up through the end of September, after which you can cast your vote for one of the finalists. Check it out here.
