No Seiyuu No Life: Takuma Terashima

I HAVE SURVIVED CHRISTMAS !

To be fair, I have found my last gifts on the morning of the 24th. Talk about being close to the deadline …

That being said, I still don’t know how I survived Christmas. The only thing that these few days managed to do is comfort me in my last stupid decision of 2014.

I also guess I should take this occasion and wish you all a very happy 2015. I hope your wishes will come true!

Now without further ado let’s move on to today’s chosen seiyuu who is Takuma Terashima!

Known for: Shiroe (Log Horizon), Otoya (Utapri)

My favorite role: Shiroe (Log Horizon)

For the longest time I have overlooked Takuma Terashima. I didn’t even look up his name before writing this. But this doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve this spotlight, quite the contrary actually.

For some reason, while I was looking for someone to write about this week I immediately thought about Log Horizon and from there on it was decided that I would write on Shiroe’s seiyuu.

I am often biased. By that I mean that I often choose my favorite seiyuu based on what characters they voice. Take Kamiya Hiroshi for example, I always have a bias for his characters and that’s how he ended up being a favorite of mine.

While doing the research to write about Takuma I have noticed he was also in Durarara!!. He’s Togusa though so he doesn’t talk much. All he does is ramble about his car but for some reason I have instantly remembered about him and the tone of voice he had used for Togusa. Yet I haven’t watched Durarara!! for years.

The same happened with every character he has voiced in any anime I have watched.

And while looking at the list of all the characters he has voiced I have realized there is a lot of diversity.

The character that started this, Shiroe, is completely different from a lot of the other ones he voiced. Can you believe he also does a cute bunny mascot in PriPara of all things? Can you even imagine hearing Shiroe as a pastel colored mascot? Of course you don’t.

To be fair he has also done other cool-headed and nearly evil, like Kino in Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei or Dantalion on Makai Ouji.

I was also surprised to find he is voicing Otoya in Utapri. Otoya is quite the cutesy and shy character, it changes a lot.

I guess it means that I think you should look out for Takuma. He is going to be in Binan Koukou and that should be hilarious.

Now’s your turn to speak out for your favorite seiyuu!

Last time you chose Kana Hanazawa. And I agree with you! Kana Hanazawa is one of the best female seiyuu in the industry lately. I can’t wait to see what she’ll do next!
