The Power and Energy Ministry says that fuel prices will not be revised on November 15.
Fuel prices are usually revised twice a month, on the first and fifteenth day of every month in line with the fuel price fluctuations in the world market.
However, since the price of fuel was revised a few days ago, the Ministry has decided that there will be no price revision on November 15.
Generally on and around the 1st and 15th of every month, queues can be seen at filling stations as fuel distributors do not order fuel assuming that fuel prices will be revised.
As a measure to prevent inconvenience to consumers due to this situation, it has been announced that there will be no fuel price revision this time. According to Power and Energy Ministry sources, the unloading of the ESPO Crude oil cargo commenced on Saturday night after a new modality was signed with the supplier.
Meanwhile, the first petrol 95 cargo imported by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) since April commenced unloading on Saturday also.
