“No Evil Can Resist Grace Forever”

Friends – what can I say? We are a global community here at Communicating Across Boundaries. And the global news will break your heart and leave the pieces scattered.

Even as Muslims worldwide prepare for their Eid celebrations, Gaza is filled with suffering, its hospitals burgeoning with the wounded, its graveyards once again too full. Syria continues to care little for its citizens and has become white noise on the world stage. And ISIS in Iraq targets IraqiChristians with the Arabic letter ‘N’ for Nazarene/Christian for either “extermination or expropriation.”

I’ve few words to say. I don’t face these horrors except through the news. My world right now is calm and the morning sun is shining in a summer- blue sky. And a bright yellow sun flower captures my vision.

But my heart, perhaps like yours, feels the hurt and evil from a world away.

So I go to words far better than mine — and leave those with you today.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33

“Suffering, failure, loneliness, sorrow, discouragement, and death will be part of your journey, but the Kingdom of God will conquer all these horrors. No evil can resist grace forever.” Brennan Manning
