No Boobs About It Programs for 2013!

Posted on the 23 September 2012 by Jean Campbell

Dear Readers,

I am both pleased and excited to bring you news of our expansion plans now that we are a nonprofit organization capable of providing programs that go beyond a bi-weekly blog.

Earlier this year, No Boobs About It became a not for profit organization. Upon receipt of our IRS determination letter as a tax exempt organization, we will begin actively raising funds to support programs we plan to launch in 2013.

Programs will support our mission of helping newly diagnosed women and men get through treatment and successfully transition from active treatment to survivorship.

Our plans include the following programs:

  • As the Experts View It-A monthly blog feature by an expert from one of the following specializations: Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Breast Surgery, Breast Cancer Research, Reconstruction and Survivorship.
  • “New Beginnings” Workshops – Skype-supported workshops that bring together small groups of women to share ideas and support one another in planning and developing new beginnings for themselves following active treatment.
  • Pink Time Outs© - Funded “New Beginnings” get-a-ways from all things breast cancer to put closure on the end of active treatment and facilitate the beginnings of  long-held goals and new ideas becoming reality.

Pink Time Outs© “New Beginnings” get-a-ways will be open to any breast cancer survivor who is in active treatment or has completed treatment within the past year. Both the survivor and accompanying companion must be US Citizens or legal residents with a green card and need to be 21 years of age or older. At this time we are exploring land and sea options as suitable get-a-ways.

As the Experts View It will begin in January, as will the “New Beginnings” Workshops. Pink Time Outs© will begin in the spring.

We will keep you up to date on our plans and  programs as they are finalized.

All the best,

Jean
