Nithin’s Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde Movie Review

Posted on the 20 April 2013 by Cinecorn @cinecorndotcom

Story:
Karthik(Nithin) is a happy go lucky guy who is not satisfied with the best. He is satisfied only when he gets exactly what he likes even in the best. Sravani (Nithya Menon) is girl who is completely content with her life and as a result she had a wild fantasy for her love life. Karthik and Sravani are not at all related to each other but fate brings them together under unexpected circumstances. What happens to the two of them is what ultimately the film is all about.

Performances:
Nithin is in form of his life in the film. He is present right from the beginning till the end in the film and moves the proceedings forward with his act. This is the best performance in his career so far in that he is completely at ease with his act.

Nithya Menon is fantastic as usual. She once again gets to showcase her acting chops in the film, especially in the second half where she is the center of all the happenings. It is on her performance the entire second half rests and she delivers.

The guy who acted as a friend to Nithin also manages to attract the attention of the viewer. It is the role initially but in the end he wins with his innocent act.

Isha Talwar has an important role which is central to the films overall proceedings. She makes her presence felt for the time she is in the film. However the character and story is such that she is erased from one’s memory by the end of the film.

There are a number of small roles like the one’s done by Ali, Tagubotu Ramesh, Raghubabu, Duvvasi Mohan etc. Among these guys Tagubotu Ramesh and Ali stand out with their hilarious act.

Positives:
Plot of the film
Performances
Music
Fresh Comedy
Climax

Negatives:
The film drags partly post interval
Repetitive at times

Analysis:
Gunde Jari Gallanthayyinde is, a love story, with a fresh plot something that is very rare to find in current time. The freshness here arises from the screenplay, more than the story. The screenplay keeps one hooked from the beginning till the end. And although the film drags for some time during the middle of the second half, it all is forgotten because of the beautiful climax.

Another major asset for the film is the writing which keeps the viewers in splits throughout. There are some rip roaring hilarious sequences throughout. The pre interval sequences starting from the point where hero and his friend meets in bar to enjoy the success of the friend’s love till the interval is just fantastic.

Director Vikram Kumar makes a strong debut as director. He handles the complicated story with a lot of clarity and never lets the interest go right from the word go.

However it’s the screenplay and dialogues by Harshavardhan which are the films standout aspects. They make the film what it is in the end and deserve every, applause it gets.

Music by Anup Rubens is good. The picturization only elevates them further. Cinematography gives the film a rich look. Editing could have been much sharper especially in the second half.

Bottomline: Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde – A Breezy Romantic Tale That Is Not To Be Missed
Rating: 4/5
