New Zelda Wii U Gameplay New gameplay footage for The Legend of Zelda Wii U was shown at The Game Awards 2014. Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma showed small pieces of the game’s world. The footage opened with a sunset and Link running across Hyrule. The two spoke about how the game is intended to have many highly elevated areas, and how players can travel to any area they see in the horizon. Aonuma used the map on the Gamepad to mark a location in the distance that he intended to reach. Standing on a large cliff, Link used the Sailcloth from Skyward Sword to parachute to the ground. Soon afterwards, Link is riding the horse Epona through forests, and Aonuma mentions that horses don’t run into trees and that he is barely touching the Gamepad when Link is riding Epona. The showcase ended with combat while on horseback, and Link vaulting off Epona, firing an arrow in slow motion. The Legend of Zelda Wii U is still expected to release in 2015.
