Thoughts on Night’s End

Characters & Performances – Ken Barber is the shut-in who has closed off his life since his divorce, moved to a new apartment away from his friends and family, remaining close with them too. He produces self-help videos with very few views, which soon sees him diving into the supernatural world of videos, when he starts having strange events around the apartment, believing he is being haunted by a former resident. Geno Walker being in every scene will see him carrying the film, showing the unsettled side of his character in the film, drawing us through every scene we see. When it comes to the supporting cast, we have Ken’s ex-wife Kelsey and her new partner Isaac, Ken’s best friend Terry, who between the three are supporting him trying to put his life back together. When it comes to the experts, we see Dark Corners, Lyden Knight and Colin Albertson who all offer different ideas on what to do, to solve the problems Ken is going through.

StoryThe story here follows a shut-in man who is struggling to rebuild his life, only to find himself getting haunted by a spirit in his apartment, needing to use vide calls for support and advice on what he can do to move on with his life. Night’s End is a story that will bring together a couple of the best elements of horror, with the idea that someone who can’t cope with leaving their apartment, having nowhere to run from presence in the apartment, using the video chat to show the distance Ken is from his loved ones and the idea that plenty of people online claim to have answers, which could make things worse. The story will show us the routine that Ken goes through each day, which can be used to show the line between someone trying to fix their life and someone losing it to the unknown, which adds plenty to each scene we get.

ThemesNight’s End is a horror thriller that will keep the action contained within one apartment, as the man is unable to leave, use video chats for conversations, which will give a new chance to let things happen in the background for different reactions and leave our jaws dropped by the time the credits role. The film has one big weakness, with that being the special effects used, which come off looking cheaper than the quality we get in the rest of the film.

Final Thoughts Night’s End is a terrifying horror that only gets more intense as the film unfolds.
