As Lawson said in her blog:
“Although it was very thrilling to think of being up on a billboard in LA and around the States, I was very strict and English and told them they weren’t allowed to airbrush my tummy out. Wise? Hmmm. But that tum is the truth and is come by honestly, as my granny would have said.”
How refreshing.
If you are uncomfortable even by the idea of having your tummy on display in public, think about it being plastered up on billboards! Nigella Lawson’s tummy hardly looks bad at all. It’s a little bump, something most of us have…on a good day.
This is also not to say that you can’t embrace your tummy without giving it support. Lawson smartly chose a ruched dress that adds distracting visual interest over the tummy area and I’m sure she was smart about her foundation garments. She’s a real lady, with a real body doing the best with what she has. It also sounds like she’s got better things to do than obsess over a bitty bump. If she can get over it, while being in a larger-than-life promo, then so can you!
