Monsieur le Duck Launch new duck-fat washed Armagnac
Monsieur Le Duck, a London Restaurant which celebrates all things duck, have launched what could be the UK's first duck-fat washed Armagnac.
Bringing the food and wine of South-West France to the heart of London, Monsieur Le Duck have an intriguing drink to try. They have taken a batch of Armagnac with room temperature duck fat.
After two days the infused drink is ready with the Chateau de Laubade Signature VS Bas Armagnac and duck fat is put in a freezer. After a few hours, the duck fat freezes and is taken out as a solid block. The remaining liquid is strained and bottled.
The launch of the Armagnac coincides with the opening of Monsieur Le Duck's new cocktail bar named The Duck Nest. The bar has been created to contrast but complement the rustic interiors and laid back Gascon style of the first-floor restaurant.
The Duck Nest offer will be one of only a handful of London establishments to offer a dedicated Armagnac list, the highlight being our in-house made duck fat Armagnac. Other items on the cocktail list include bourbon infused with rosemary and have craft beers from By The Horns (Chateau Rouge is a farmhouse Saison style beer that has been aged in Burgundy wine barrels) and Beavertown. Wine is of course also available covering all major wine-growing areas in France, and only France.
